Position Details Location: 330 Baker Ave, Concord, MA Schedule: Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm Specialty: Internal Medicine General Role Description As the Medical Assistant, you will assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and tests in the exam room. You advise patients of preparation and testing required for exams. You ensure all pre‑visit work required for the exam is completed and that lab and other test results are available in the electronic medical record (EMR). You also provide direct clinical support to one or more assigned clinicians. Primary Responsibilities Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability. Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms according to policy and procedures. Prepares patient for examination; measures vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse rate, weight, and height. Assists clinicians with routine clinical procedures and/or additional tests specific to the department. Advises patients of preparation or pre‑visit testing required for exams specific to the department. Ensures patients’ EMR is updated with medical information including recent testing and consultations, confirming demographic information, medications, allergies, and chief complaints, and ensuring data is accurate and up‑to‑date. Keeps patients informed of visit status, unforeseen delays, and other relevant information. Reconciles medications, sets up pending refills, and discontinues prescriptions that are no longer active. Assists in resolving minor patient concerns and complaints as appropriate. Orders and performs point‑of‑care testing on patients; classified as waived testing (e.g., strep, urine, hcg, glucose testing). Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency certificate from an accredited institution or governmental unit or a Medical Assistant Certification. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in medical assisting or graduate of medical assistant certification program. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Experience typically acquired through 1+ years of experience in a clinical or customer‑service setting as determined by the department (a bachelor’s or associate degree may be substituted for experience). Knowledge of reagent stability and storage. Understands testing procedures and factors influencing test results. Computer experience required with the ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs. EMR experience and/or aptitude to master the EMR based on other technology experience. Benefits The hourly pay for this role ranges from $16.00 to $25.05 per hour based on full‑time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
