Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant

Altru Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Altru Health System, is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will implement treatment plans under the direction of a Physical Therapist, support patients in regaining function and independence, and document patient progress accurately. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team in a compassionate, patient-centered environment that values respect, teamwork, and continuous learning. Implement physical therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, and functional mobility interventions Monitor, assess, and document patient responses and progress in the electronic medical record Communicate patient status and clinical observations to the supervising Physical Therapist and care team Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and use of assistive devices Maintain treatment areas and equipment in clean, safe working order and follow infection control procedures Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support discharge planning and continuity of care Participate in ongoing professional development and comply with all regulatory and hospital policies Therapeutic exercise implementation Gait and balance training Functional mobility training Neuromuscular re-education techniques Safe use of physical therapy modalities within PTA scope Patient observation and progress measurement Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Patient and family education on home exercise programs Instruction in assistive device use and safety Interdisciplinary team communication Time management and caseload prioritization Adherence to infection control and safety protocols Basic knowledge of orthopedic and neurologic conditions Professional and ethical clinical conduct Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Ability to meet hospital credentialing and background requirements #J-18808-Ljbffr Interfaco Ltd
