This role provides enterprise leadership, governance, and oversight of security programs designed to protect personnel, facilities, operations, and reputation.As a member of the Global Security Leadership Team, this position is responsible for shaping and executing risk-based security strategies aligned with enterprise priorities and supporting operations across a diverse and evolving global footprint.As the company expands into more complex operating environments, this role will play a critical part in strengthening security capabilities in elevated-risk and high-risk regions—ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, business travelers, expatriates, and secondees while enabling safe and effective business operations.This position is part of the enterprise succession pipeline for senior security leadership and requires the ability to operate at strategic, operational, and tactical levels.Position OverviewKey Responsibilities:Enterprise Leadership & StrategyContribute to enterprise security strategy and priorities as a member of the Global Security Leadership TeamAlign security programs with enterprise risk thresholds, business objectives, and operational requirementsServe as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on security risks, mitigation strategies, and operational decisionsRepresent Global Security in senior leadership forums and act on behalf of the Chief Security Officer, as requiredPortfolio Leadership & Program ExecutionLead one or more global security portfolios, which may include:International security and global investigationsAmericas security and enterprise security technologyExecutive protection, GSOC, global threat, and travel securityOversee execution of integrated, risk-based security programs across global operationsDrive standardization, scalability, and continuous improvement across business units and regionsEnsure alignment with the Security Management System and enterprise governance frameworksHigh-Risk Operations & Workforce ProtectionProvide leadership for security programs supporting operations in elevated-risk and high-risk environmentsOversee security risk assessments and mitigation strategies for facilities, projects, travelers, expatriates, and remote workforcesSupport new country entry, major projects, and operations in complex geopolitical and security environmentsAdvise leadership on security risk acceptance, escalation thresholds, and go/no-go decisionsEnsure travel security, journey management, residential security, and workforce protection programs are robust and effectiveGovernance, Risk & AssuranceEstablish and maintain security policies, standards, and proceduresEnsure effective execution of the Security Management SystemOversee assurance, audit, and compliance processesMonitor and report security risks, trends, and mitigation effectivenessCrisis Management & Incident ResponseProvide senior leadership during incidents, emergencies, and crisis management activationsSupport enterprise crisis management structures, including IMT and Functional Support TeamsCoordinate protective, investigative, and intelligence support capabilitiesDrive post-incident reviews and continuous improvementFinancial & Vendor ManagementLead budget planning, cost optimization, and resource allocationOversee security vendors, contracts, and service deliveryEnsure contracted services meet company security standards and operational requirementsStakeholder EngagementServe as a senior interface with business units and corporate functionsBuild relationships with government agencies, law enforcement, industry partners, and peer organizationsProvide executive-level briefings on security risks and strategic implicationsSuccess responsibly so others can deliver results and solve problems without fear Basic Requirements:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Security, Risk Management, Business, International Relations, or related field12 or more years of progressive experience in corporate security, military, law enforcement, intelligence, emergency management, or related disciplinePrevious experience leading global or multi-region security programs and teamsPrevious experience conducting security risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategiesPrevious experience supporting crisis management, incident response, or emergency operationsBasic working knowledge of core security disciplines, including physical security, investigations, crisis management, executive protection, and security technologyPreferred Requirements:Legally authorized to work in the United StatesMaster’s degree in Security Management, International Affairs, Business, or related disciplineProfessional certifications such as CPP, PSP, CISSP, CISM, or equivalentExperience in energy, extractives, infrastructure, or other globally distributed, high-risk industriesDemonstrated experience supporting operations, personnel, or facilities in elevated-risk or high-risk environmentsDirect experience operating in high-risk, non-permissive, or politically complex environmentsExperience supporting new country entry, major capital projects, or international operationsExperience developing country security plans, facility security plans, and workforce protection strategiesExperience managing travel security and duty-of-care programsExperience leading or supporting crisis management teams, GSOC operations, or threat intelligence programsExperience managing security vendors, guard forces, and international service providersDemonstrated ability to translate complex security risks into actionable business guidance for senior leadershipProven ability to advise senior leadership and influence It is especially critical for higher-risk environments where local execution, legal sensitivity, business continuity, and enterprise defensibility must be tightly coordinated.Security Director — Americas & Enterprise Security TechnologyPrimary ScopeLeads security strategy, governance, and program execution across the Americas, with enterprise responsibility for security technology strategy, integration, and lifecycle management.Core Accountability AreasAmericas regional security program leadership and oversight.Security risk assessment and mitigation across North and South America operations.Business unit engagement and support across the Americas.Enterprise security technology strategy, standards, deployment, and integration.Oversight of access control, video management, alarm, badging, physical security systems, and related platforms.Alignment of regional execution with global standards, SMS requirements, and enterprise reporting.Support for technology-enabled detection, response, assurance, and risk management.Differentiating FocusThis role combines direct regional security leadership with enterprise ownership of scalable security technology capabilities.
