We pride ourselves on upholding the highest standards of safety, environmental conservation, and ethical conduct as we strive to grow our infrastructure products and services through empowering and developing our people, fostering innovation, utilizing new technology, and maximizing vertical integration at all levels of the company's value chain.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIncluding, but not limited to:Adhere to Reeves Construction Company safety programs to ensure a safe work environmentShovel work around trenchesLifting pipe and operating compaction devicesLocate and avoid underground utilitiesAbility to understand and interpret grade informationRead and interpret grade instruments (example: rules, grade rods, carpenter levels and lasers)Ability to work and operate equipment in a safe and consistent mannerWillingness to work nights and weekendsMust have a basic knowledge of soil types, trenching and shoringMust be able to work independently and carry out detailed instructionsMust provide own transportation to and from workQualifications, Education, and CompetenciesQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.REASONING ABILITY:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentPhysical Demands:Must be able to climb in and out of trenches multiple times per day.Must be able to work in trench for several hours without stopping.Must withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment.Must be able to use arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions.Must be able to perform manual duties and lift up to 60 pounds.WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals.
