Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 12 months permanent OR CST experience required. License: Must have a permanent Ohio license or compact license in hand at time of submission. Certifications: AHA or Red Cross BLS and NBSTSA certification required; NCCT not accepted. Must-Have: Strong ortho experience in total joint procedures is required. One recent reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for is required. Traveler must work at least every other holiday. ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessments will be completed during orientation; an acceptable score on both assessments is required. Description: ALL requirements listed in the job description and submittal requirements are non-negotiable. Strong ortho experience in total joint procedures is a must. The facility requires a dedicated CST to work day shifts from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, five days a week. Recent references must be provided from assignments worked in the past 12 months. Required certifications need to be active and in hand at the time of submission. Travelers may be subject to background checks, and any traveler with an open case is not accepted. Nurses and CSTs are exempt from nicotine-free facility requirements, which are temporarily honored until further notice. Candidates may extend their contracts for a period of 18 months, after which a six-month break is required. Competencies need to be completed annually for continuous contracts. Modules will be recorded accordingly, and the time needed varies by specialty.
