Senior Finance Associate – Private Credit - Boston - Hyrbid About the Opportunity Our client is a leading alternative investment manager focused on private credit and structured finance strategies. The firm is seeking a highly motivated accounting professional to join its Fund Finance team, supporting a diverse portfolio of private debt investment vehicles. This role offers significant exposure to fund accounting, valuation, investor reporting, and portfolio management activities while partnering closely with senior leadership across the organization. Key Responsibilities Fund Accounting & Financial Reporting Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for private credit funds. Oversee the production of fund-level performance reporting, investor deliverables, and other recurring reporting packages. Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable accounting standards. Investor Reporting & Fund Operations Partner with Investor Relations to support fundraising efforts and respond to investor requests. Prepare and deliver fund performance analyses, fee calculations, portfolio metrics, and other information requested by existing and prospective investors. Coordinate capital calls, distributions, and investor communications for assigned funds. Support the valuation process for private debt, equity, and structured credit investments. Maintain investment portfolio records and monitor portfolio activity across multiple funds. Track interest income, payment receipts, and other portfolio-level activity. Financial Analysis & Management Reporting Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting packages, including fund performance commentary and analysis for senior leadership. Analyze investment performance, portfolio trends, and key operating metrics. Treasury & Cash Management Manage daily cash activity, liquidity monitoring, and bank reconciliations. Coordinate cash movements related to investments, capital activity, and operating expenses. Tax & Audit Coordination Partner with internal tax teams and external advisors to support quarterly tax estimates and annual tax allocations. Serve as a key point of contact during annual audits and assist with the preparation and review of audited financial statements. Leadership & Process Improvement Review work performed by third‑party fund administrators and ensure accuracy of deliverables. Mentor and develop junior accounting professionals, providing guidance and technical oversight. Identify opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and reporting efficiencies across the fund platform. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting and/or alternative investment management. Strong understanding of private credit, private equity, fund accounting, and partnership accounting concepts. Experience with investment valuation methodologies and portfolio reporting. Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior management, investors, auditors, and external service providers. Highly organized with strong project management capabilities and attention to detail. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience supporting private credit, BDC, CLO, or other alternative investment vehicles. Exposure to SEC reporting and regulatory reporting requirements. Experience working with third‑party fund administrators and external auditors. Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
