Medical AssistantSt. Joseph's Surgery Center is seeking a full time Medical Assistant to join the team!At St. Joseph's Surgery Center our mission is to treat each and every one of our patients, and their families, as if they were our own family member. Each patient, each family, each and every time.Job Summary: The Medical Assistant may assume the following responsibilities: Verifies patient information by interviewing patient with two patient identifiers; reviewing and/or recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit or treatment. Reports to PAT RN any area of concern and revision of chart. Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to their bed; providing procedural gowns and drapes; arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment. Conducts quality checks. Taking vital signs. Participates in the standardized education of patients through written instructions and answering questions as directed by provider. Independently initiates referrals and insurance pre-authorizations. Provides general office support including phone and fax management.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Include the following.
