Assistant Manager - Adult Day Care

Job Responsibilities:
-Support the daily operations of the Adult Day Center and ensure services are delivered in accordance with organizational policies and program standards.
-Complete member intakes and assessments and enter required member information into EPIC.
-Maintain accurate and timely member documentation and update records as needed.
-Communicate with members and families regarding schedules, program updates, changes in member needs, and other concerns.
-Promote member safety, dignity, engagement, and person-centered care throughout the program.
-Support staff in responding appropriately to member behavioral concerns, medical needs, and emergency situations.
-Provide operational coverage as needed to maintain continuity of services.
-Meet regularly with the Adult Day Manager to review program operations, staffing, member needs, and other priorities.
-Assist the Adult Day Manager with the daily supervision of full-time, part-time, and per diem team members, volunteers, and interns.
-Assign and monitor daily responsibilities and ensure appropriate staffing and coverage across program areas.
-Provide staff with ongoing guidance, training, coaching, and support.
-Monitor staff performance and adherence to organizational policies, safety procedures, documentation requirements, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements.
-Participate in staff performance evaluations by providing feedback and recommendations to the Adult Day Manager.
-Coordinate and conduct staff meetings in collaboration with the Adult Day Manager.
-Foster a collaborative and professional work environment focused on high-quality member services.
-Serve as acting manager in the absence of the Adult Day Manager to ensure continuity and effective operation of the center.
-Oversee therapeutic recreation programming and provide guidance and support to activity staff.
-Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of engaging activities appropriate for older adults with varying functional and cognitive abilities.
-Ensure programming includes a balanced range of activities designed to support members with different levels of functioning, including individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, and other forms of cognitive impairment.
-Support the development of monthly activity calendars and member/family communications related to programming.
-Identify new programs, activities, and engagement opportunities that support member interests and needs.
-Coordinate with external vendors and community partners providing recreational, therapeutic, educational, wellness, and other programming.
-Continuously evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on member needs and engagement.
-Conduct community outreach and marketing activities to increase awareness of the Adult Day Center and support program growth.
-Develop and maintain relationships with internal Atlantic Health System partners, community organizations, referral sources, and other stakeholders.
-Represent the Adult Day Center during outreach activities, community events, presentations, and other program-development opportunities.

Required Skills & Experience:

-Please target candidates with supervisory/management experience in an Adult Day program, LTC, ALF setting; with strong experience working with members with Dementia/Alzheimer's disease. CDP certification required.
-Previous experience working with older adults, including individuals who are frail, chronically disabled, or living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive impairments.
-Previous supervisory or leadership experience in an adult day program, long-term care facility (LTC), assisted living facility (ALF), senior services, or a related healthcare setting.
-Experience working in long-term care, assisted living, or adult day program settings.
-Experience planning, developing, implementing, or overseeing activities or therapeutic recreation programs.
-Knowledge of diversional and redirection techniques for members with dementia and other cognitive impairments.
-Demonstrated ability to appropriately engage, redirect, and communicate with members experiencing dementia-related behaviors.
-Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
-Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
-Experience with community outreach, program development, or census growth.

-Experience with grant administration or reporting.

Required Education:
-Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, health services, gerontology, recreation, social services, or a related field

Preferred Education:
-Master's degree in healthcare administration or a related field

Required Certifications& Licensure:
-Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) certification

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
-Certified Activities Professional (CAP), Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), or other relevant certification

• 8a 5pm
• 40 hours/weekly
