In order to accomplish this, the representative cultivates strong relationships, seeks to know customers personally, and understands their current and future needs. The successful representative builds rapport with customers through conversations based on the customer’s needs and goals, processes transactions in a timely and accurate manner, and seeks opportunities to strengthen the relationship by addressing unmet needs. The representative follows legal, ethical, and State Farm guidelines to educate prospects and customers about insurance and financial services offerings, make recommendations in the customer’s best interests, complete applications accurately, and empower customers to make informed decisions about their insurance and financial services needs. This position requires licensing in Property, Casualty, Life, and Health Insurance in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Those who are not currently licensed are eligible for paid training and testing to obtain a license. Responsibilities Receives and processes payments Processes policy transactions and applications as necessary. Answers customer questions regarding policies and accounts. Documents customer interactions and transactions according to company guidelines Uses online resources and business partners as necessary. Facilitates communications with State Farm Claims as necessary. Identifies coverage gaps and suggests additional products and services as may be appropriate for the customer’s needs. Calls existing customers to offer additional products and services which may be appropriate. Calls existing customers to schedule appointments for account reviews as appropriate. Develops leads through personal networking, community events and the use of warm leads as they may be available. Asks clarifying and qualifying questions to identify unmet needs, wants, and dreams. Educates prospects and customer on features and benefits of insurance and financial services products. Builds customized insurance and financial services packages to meet customer’s needs. Qualifications Licensed in Property, Casualty, Life, and Health Insurance in Virginia (or the ability to obtain licenses within 60 days) Ability to solve problems using provided resources. Comfortable speaking with customers, whether over the phone or in person. Persuasive reasoning and listening skills. High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in Customer Service or Sales Background in the insurance industry Experience delivering customer-focused solutions and in creating long-lasting relationships. Persistent nature with goal-oriented mind.
