Senior Computational Chemist

About the Role Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Computational Chemist to join their innovative research team, operating entirely remotely. You will be responsible for designing and executing molecular modeling studies, virtual screening, and property prediction to guide experimental efforts. Key Responsibilities Perform molecular modeling, virtual screening, and quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) studies. Develop and validate computational methods for predicting molecular properties, binding affinities, and ADMET characteristics. Design novel molecular entities using cheminformatics and molecular modeling tools for drug discovery programs. Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists, biologists, and pharmacologists to integrate computational insights into experimental design. Analyze and interpret large datasets from computational simulations and experimental results. Contribute to the development and maintenance of computational chemistry software and databases. Requirements Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Cheminformatics, Physical Chemistry, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in computational chemistry, particularly in drug discovery. Proficiency in molecular modeling software (e.g., Schrödinger, MOE, GROMACS) and structure-based drug design. Strong understanding of quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, and physical organic chemistry principles. Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python) and data analysis techniques.
