Job Description
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist with strong NICU experience to join our Respiratory Care Services team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality respiratory care and supporting the needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

Administer medical gas therapy following department procedures and protocols.
Evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapies for potential continuation or discontinuation in accordance with department standards.
Prepare and collaborate with advanced practitioners and clinical specialists to implement individualized respiratory care plans.
Review patient charts as per department policy, including orders, lab values, and chest x-rays, ensuring accurate documentation of care provided.
Operate and maintain respiratory care equipment in a safe and sanitary manner, adhering to department guidelines and returning equipment upon patient discharge.
Monitor patients during therapies for any adverse reactions and respond accordingly to any arising problems, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree from an accredited college.
Registered Respiratory Therapist certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Eligibility for a State of Maryland License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification.
Minimum of 2 years of recent and strong experience in a NICU setting.

Working Conditions

Employees in this role may be exposed to blood-borne pathogens and should be prepared for the associated risks. Physical demands include medium lifting as necessary to support patient care.
