Full Time Technical Location: Bryan, TX, US Posted: 4 days ago Requisition ID: 1140 Responsibilities Test performance of electromechanical assemblies, use test instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters, or Megohmega­meter. Read electrical blueprints or technical data sheets to conduct diagnostics and install electronics assemblies. Install electrical or electronic devices in housings or assemblies, using soldering equipment and hand tools. Assemble electric and electronic components, using hand or power tools. Inspect electronic devices for possible damage in troubleshooting situations. Analyze and record daily PLC modifications and prepare written documentation. Support the Electronic Engineer in daily activities such as troubleshooting issues and executing automation projects at the facility. Support the maintenance department in diagnosing automation‑related problems on the production lines. Repair, rework, or calibrate electric and electronic assemblies to meet operational specifications or tolerances. Work with PLC software (Allen Bradley/Siemens) for monitoring, troubleshooting, and modifying running programs. Work with VFDs (Allen Bradley Power Flex, Siemens, and ABB) for monitoring, troubleshooting, backing up, and restoring procedures. Work with different kinds of encoders and sensors. Perform preventive maintenance assigned to automation equipment. Other duties assigned by the Automation Coordinator. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate (GED or similar). Trade school or industrial apprenticeship in electric or electronic trades. At least five (5) years’ experience as a journeyman electrician or electronic technician. Experience working in environments with exposure to adverse weather conditions, extreme cold and heat, hazardous chemicals, unpleasant odors, dirt, and dust. Ability to operate an industrial system computer. Reasonable knowledge of hand‑held measuring devices, micrometers, and measuring tapes. Able to read, write, speak, and understand English to follow job and safety requirements. Working Conditions Requires frequent written and oral communication. Primarily a manufacturing plant with loud machinery noise, grease, and dirt. Exposure to adverse weather conditions, extreme cold and heat, hazardous chemicals, unpleasant odors, dust. May work in wet or humid conditions and face risk of electrical shock. Job may involve working at high, precarious places, and exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, vibration. Employees may sit or stand for extended periods, walk long distances, and work in confined spaces. May involve pushing, pulling, and lifting heavy materials.
