About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing and travel experience required. License: Valid state nursing license is required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Must-Have: Must have experience with insulin administration, oral suctioning, colostomy/ileostomy management, and care for bowel obstruction patients. Must have a vehicle for this assignment. Description: Position may float between units based on skill sets. Every other weekend is required. Will require floating to other units and facilities as needed. Expected patient ratios are approximately 1:4. Travelers may float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment. Predominant patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. The unit is supported by various interdisciplinary teams such as IV teams and physical therapy. Additional special procedures and skills include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, and telemetry monitoring. Staffing ratios are expected to be 4 patients per nurse. Completion of required modules is necessary prior to the start of the assignment. All staff must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays. References from recent employment must be provided. Travelers may also be offered a hotel if floating consecutive shifts to certain locations.
