Role Overview:

The role involves providing patient-centered care within the Cancer Center, focusing on outpatient chemotherapy and related services. Responsibilities include chemotherapy administration, care planning, symptom management, and coordination of outpatient services.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred.
• One to two years of experience in ambulatory oncology required.
• Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.
• ONS chemo/immunotherapy certificate required.
• Oncology Nurse certification (OCN) required after two years or 2,000 hours of oncology nursing practice.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to practice independently and collaboratively.
• Competency in basic computer skills.
• Strong communication skills with patients, peers, and physicians.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.

Work Environment:

This position aligns with ANA and ONS standards, working under established organizational and departmental policies and procedures. The role collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to cancer patients and their caregivers.
