Work Days : 192 Mission Statement In partnership with the communities we serve, Northwest Regional ESD improves student learning by providing equitable access to high-quality services and support. General Duties Facilitate a child's/student's communication competence, critical for positive educational outcomes. Participate in teams for general education intervention, evaluation, eligibility, and services. Plan and implement ongoing speech and language programs/services in conjunction with other educational services. Work with students who exhibit the full range of communication disorders, including language, articulation, fluency, voice/resonance, and swallowing. Qualifications Licensure through the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology. Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology. Experience with children with a variety of disabilities and needs. Valid Driver’s License; available transportation and proof of auto insurance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias. Ability to exhibit professionalism and effective human relations. Confer regularly with immediate supervisor. Proficient in the use of computer and internet-based applications, including email, internet software, Google Suite, and word processing (MS Word). Essential Functions Ensure that all students receive high-quality, culturally and linguistically sensitive competent services. Demonstrate awareness, knowledge, and sensitivity in the area of language acquisition with linguistically and/or culturally diverse populations. Provide intervention appropriate to the age and learning needs of individual students, selected through an evidence-based decision-making process in accordance with IEP/IFSP documentation. Design school-wide speech-language services that employ a continuum of service delivery models in the least restrictive environment and implement a variety of models, including pull-out, in-class, and consultation. Address social, academic, and vocational needs that impact attainment of educational goals. Consult and collaborate with teachers and parents to increase access to language in the curriculum and support development in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Identify appropriate instructional strategies, modifications, and/or accommodations in collaboration with the educational team. Identify, implement, and support students with the use of augmentative communication devices. Maintain appropriate records and reports (including Medicaid billing, if applicable). Screen and identify communication disorders in children with special needs. Act as a member of the multidisciplinary team during the assessment process and evaluate students/children in articulation, voice, fluency, and language impairments. Develop and maintain accurate IEP/IFSP records per special education and district guidelines and timelines. Prepare and complete documentation on time, including evaluations, progress reports, transition reports, and student data collection. Attend and participate in team, school, and district meetings as necessary. Access and attend professional development to increase knowledge and provide high-quality services. Conduct hearing screenings, as necessary. May be involved with mentoring and/or supervising graduate SLP students, clinical fellows, and/or new SLPs (per licensure guidelines). May supervise SLP-Assistants and/or paraprofessionals (per licensure guidelines). Drive between locations as required. Perform other job duties as assigned.
