Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Mail Clerk to support daily mailroom operations. This role is responsible for receiving, sorting, processing, and distributing mail and packages while providing excellent customer service. The position also includes driving a 16-foot box truck to transport mail, packages, and office materials between client locations. Driving is performed each day but represents only a small portion of the overall responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages.
• Prepare outgoing mail and shipments using approved shipping carriers.
• Deliver mail, packages, and office supplies to designated departments.
• Drive a 16-foot box truck daily to transport mail, packages, and materials between client locations.
• Load and unload mail, packages, and supplies safely.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of mail deliveries and shipments.
• Operate mailroom equipment such as postage meters, scanners, and copiers.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and secure mailroom.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service to employees and clients.
• Follow all company safety policies, traffic laws, and delivery procedures.
• Assist with other mailroom and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a mailroom, shipping/receiving, warehouse, or customer service environment preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience driving a 16-foot box truck or similar commercial vehicle preferred.
• Ability to safely load, unload, and transport mail and packages.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to safely operate a 16-foot box truck on a daily basis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with USPS, FedEx, UPS, or other shipping and logistics operations.
• Customer-facing experience.
• Knowledge of mailroom or records management procedures.

"The pay range for this position is $17.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonus opportunities may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered."
