The Senior Underwriter plays a critical role in evaluating and assessing risks associated with insurance applications to ensure profitable and sustainable business growth. Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience in the insurance industry.
• Minimum of 5 years or workers compensation auditor experience.
• Strong knowledge of insurance products, underwriting principles, and regulatory environment in the United States.
• Proficiency in risk assessment and financial analysis.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional underwriting certifications such as CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) or AU (Associate in Underwriting).
• Experience with specialized insurance lines such as commercial, property, casualty, or specialty risks.
• Familiarity with underwriting software and data analytics tools.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing underwriting teams or projects.
• Advanced degree in a relevant discipline or business administration.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and analyze insurance applications, financial statements, and risk factors to determine policy eligibility and terms.
• Develop and implement underwriting guidelines and strategies to optimize risk selection and pricing.
• Collaborate with sales teams, brokers, and clients to clarify coverage needs and negotiate terms.
• Review and approve complex or high-value insurance policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Monitor portfolio performance and adjust underwriting approaches based on emerging trends and loss experience.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters to enhance team capabilities and knowledge.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support underwriting decisions and audit requirements.
