Full Time - Medical Assistant - Haverstraw/Spring Valley

Job Description Sun River Health, a Federally Qualified, Non‑Profit Health Center, seeks a Full Time Medical Assistant to support our Haverstraw and Spring Valley locations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Medical Assistant Completes the rooming process and takes vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests, records patient data in eCW, (laboratory results, pain level, PEAS, PHQ, Smoke status, etc.) and documents reason for visit. Performs in‑house labs, collects specimens for outside labs (e.g., Pap, cultures, etc.), and performs quality control in accordance with organizational protocols. Keeps the clinical area stocked and in good order; ensures that all dated material is kept current and disposes of outdated supplies. Cleans and sterilizes all equipment and logs each time this service is performed. Performs basic clerical work in the service area; answers phones in an appropriate manner, communicates problems/concerns to the nurse, and handles telephone inquiries. Ensures all appropriate logs are maintained. Qualifications Minimum Education Requirement: High School diploma/GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate. Preferred Education Requirement: Associate’s degree with Medical Assistant Training Certificate. Minimum Related Work Experience: 0–1 year. Preferred Specialized Skills & Knowledge: Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
