Product Development Engineer

Salary: $100-120k + Bonus Potential Overview An established engineering and manufacturing organization specializing in high-precision motion technology is seeking a senior-level Product Design Engineer to lead the development of advanced motion systems and custom positioning solutions. This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineer who combines strong mechanical design capabilities with a deep understanding of linear motion, bearings, precision positioning, and motion control systems. The position offers significant technical influence, customer interaction, and a clear path toward future engineering leadership. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of precision linear motion and positioning systems Own projects from concept and architecture through prototyping, testing, and production release Drive system-level design decisions involving mechanical, motion control, and performance requirements Work directly with customers to understand applications and develop engineered solutions Conduct design reviews and provide technical leadership across projects Select and specify critical components including bearings, motors, actuators, guides, and motion elements Support manufacturing, assembly, testing, and continuous product improvement initiatives Develop validation plans and analyze performance data to ensure reliability, repeatability, and accuracy Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the engineering organization Collaborate closely with engineering, sales, manufacturing, and operations teams Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 5+ years of product design and development experience Strong experience with linear motion systems, precision bearings, positioning stages, and precision machinery Proven ability to own designs and contribute to system architecture Working knowledge of control theory and closed-loop motion systems Experience developing products from concept through commercialization Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar platforms Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a collaborative, hands-on engineering environment Preferred Qualifications Customer-facing engineering or applications engineering experience Experience within precision automation, optics, semiconductor equipment, life sciences, robotics, or advanced manufacturing Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and precision mechanical design Experience with FEA, simulation, or performance modeling tools Exposure to MATLAB, LabVIEW, C++, or related engineering software tools Why Consider This Opportunity?
