Bike Security Officer

Responsibilities Protect The Smith Center property from theft, damage, hazards, or interference. Conduct periodic tours to check for irregularities, inspecting protection devices and fire control equipment. Preserve order and enforce regulations on personnel, visitors, and premises. Demonstrate outstanding customer service to ensure a safe, secure, and friendly environment for internal and external guests. Control access to the facility; assist visitors with a legitimate need to gain entry. Provide an atmosphere in which all team members and visitors know the TSC responds to and cares about their needs. Monitor entrances and exits; prevent unapproved or unlawful entry; control movement of people, vehicles, and parking. Patrol assigned site on foot or bicycle; check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, safety and security violations. Prepare logs or reports as required and inspect security control logs as needed. Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity to management or public safety authorities as appropriate. Respond to emergencies in an orderly and timely manner utilizing proper training and following SOPs. Requirements High School Diploma or G.E.D. Two (2) or more years of experience in law enforcement, security, EMT, or the hospitality industry. Must be at least 21 years of age or turning 21 within 30 days of employment. Successful completion of a required background check and pre‑employment drug screening. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; other languages such as Spanish would be beneficial but not required. Ability to operate independently, prioritize workload, and manage projects to a successful conclusion. Ability to function effectively and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to protect and maintain a broad scope of confidential and proprietary information. Ability to perform a wide variety of complex administrative procedures and practices. Required to use diplomacy and judgment in dealing with others at different levels both internally and externally at all times. Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as determined by operational needs. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
