Position: Inpatient Manager – Medical Surgical Unit (MSU)
Location: Grand Junction, CO
Hourly Pay: $53.00 – $60.95 (based on experience)
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $20,000 + Relocation assistance available
Full-Time (Exempt) | Leadership On-Call Rotation | Immediate Start
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily leadership and operational oversight of the Medical Surgical Unit
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and quality benchmarks
- Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning
- Partner with leadership and HR on recruitment, onboarding, and retention
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement improvement plans
- Oversee staff education, training, and competency programs
- Assist with budget planning and cost control initiatives
- Maintain readiness for Joint Commission and CMS audits
- Participate in leadership on-call rotation
- Support bedside care as needed
- Monitor and improve nurse-sensitive quality indicators
- Collaborate across departments and manage float pool resources
Qualifications
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) – Required
- MSN (Master of Science in Nursing) – Preferred
- Active, unrestricted RN license (Colorado)
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in Med-Surg or similar setting
- BLS & ACLS – Required prior to hire
- PALS & TNCC/TCAR – Required within 6 months
- CCRN, PCCN, or equivalent – Preferred
- NE-BC certification – Required within 3 years
