Ready to take your financial expertise to new heights in the vibrant heart of Miami? We're looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Assistant Director of Finance to join our dynamic team at the Clevelander Hotel South Beachand you'll play a key role in our exciting new Hilton property launch!


The Opportunity

This is more than just accounting; you'll be the backbone of our financial operations, overseeing everything from accounts payable and receivable to daily cash management. You'll supervise a talented team, coordinate with our leadership, and ensure we're running a tight financial ship while maintaining the stellar service our guests expect. Plus, you'll have the chance to help us launch our new Hilton property with best practices and a polished operation from day one.

What You'll Do

• Lead and train accounting staff (AR, AP, payroll, income audit teams)
• Manage accounts payable and ensure smooth payment processing
• Oversee accounts receivable billing and collection efforts
• Balance daily income audits and prepare accurate financial statements
• Perform bank reconciliations and month-end closes on schedule
• Act as the liaison between our properties and corporate accounting
• Resolve guest disputes and billing inquiries with professionalism and grace
• Partner with all departments to solve financial problems creatively
• Keep detailed records and track rebates/adjustments with precision
• Manage daily cash operations-dial-up banking, transfers, reconciliations
• Contribute to strategic financial planning and forecasting

The Ideal Candidate

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent 1-2 years of hands-on accounting experience)

Must-Haves:

• Hospitality accounting experience (hotels are ideal!)
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and standard accounting software
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, forecasting, and economic analysis
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills-you can motivate and develop your team
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities without losing your cool
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail that borders on obsessive
• Flexibility to adapt as business needs change

Nice to Have: Prior experience as an Assistant Director of Finance in a hotel setting, CPA or accounting certifications
