Position: Emergency Department Travel Nurse

Shift Details

• Schedule: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
• Location: City, State
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
• Thanksgiving RTO: Not Accepted

Required Skills and Certifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
• EKG Test to be completed upon arrival.
• 2 years of experience in a nursing role required, with a strong background in PCU within the last year. Emergency Department experience preferred but not required.
• First-time travelers accepted with two years of experience and EPIC familiarity.

Patient Care Responsibilities

The contracted travel nurse will primarily work within the Emergency Department (ED) with a focus on caring for inpatient and CICU level holds. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and titrating various infusions (e.g., Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin).
• Providing care for patients with diagnoses including, but not limited to:
  
  
  • Chest Pain
  • Syncope
  • Heart Failure
  • Sepsis
  • Overdose
  • Gastrointestinal Bleed
  • COPD
  • Pneumonia
• Assisting with special procedures such as:
  
  
  • Cardioversion
  • ICD/Pacer insertions
  • S/p catheter with stent (no CABG)

Equipment and Technology

The following equipment will be utilized:

• Bipap and CPAP machines
• Vapotherm
• Alaris Pumps
• Philips Monitoring System

Additional Information

• Floating to similar units will be required.
• Assistance with patient sitting may be involved.
• This unit specializes in Cardiac Intermediate Care Holds located within the Emergency Room.
