Job Overview Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Integration Directorate seeks a highly qualified Acquisition Program Manager (009430531M) to fill an NH-1101-03 vacancy in the Nuclear Networks Division (NCN). The role supports the Global Aircrew Strategic Network Terminal (GASNT), the Very Low Frequency Enterprise Program Office (VLF EPO), and Sentinel at Hanscom AFB, MA. Salary range 2026: $101,375 – $156,715. Responsibilities Lead a team of program managers, engineers, and acquisition support personnel in design, development, test, production, and delivery of systems. Represent the organization at executive levels within the government and to contractor/industry representatives. Establish and maintain management controls such as milestones, expenditure rates, indicators, and reviews to reflect program status. Advise branch and division leadership on programmatic and technical risks associated with proposed solutions. Provide continuous assessment of goals, objectives, strategies, and performance to support long‑term acquisition program management and system life‑cycle planning. Identify and resolve highly complex, cross‑organizational problems and present status updates, decision options, and reports to senior leaders. Qualifications 5–7 years of experience as a Lead PM, leading Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) for hardware across Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) and/or Production & Sustainment activities in an ACAT I/II/III program. Experience preparing and presenting briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership, external stakeholders, and customers. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills; demonstrated experience in influencing diverse teams. Ability to see the big picture while understanding system‑level specifications. U.S. citizenship. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with Special Access Program (SAP). (See security clearance requirements.) Compliance with the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) including Program Management “Practitioner” certification within the required timeframe. Desired Skills 3 years of experience with manufacturing processes for solid or liquid rocket motor propulsion systems. Expertise in earned value management as a DoD or contractor control account manager. Relevant master’s degree. Requirements U.S. citizenship. Employee must obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance with Special Access Program (SAP) and handle classified information. Meet DAWIA requirements; achieve Program Management “Practitioner” certification. Compliance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978 (OGE Form 450 filing).
