Vice President of Operations (Accountant)

Vue Community Credit Union – Bismarck, ND

Position Summary

Vue Community Credit Union is seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Vice President of Operations to lead and manage the accounting and back-office functions of the credit union. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and exceptional member service while supporting the credit union’s mission of serving our community with integrity and care.

The ideal candidate will bring strong operational expertise, compliance knowledge, and a hands-on approach to managing financial processes in a collaborative, member-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and monitor key operational reports
• Balance and reconcile all major accounts and GLs
• Oversee and support the frontline staff and accountant
• Prepare and verify financial reports for Board meetings, including balance sheets and income statements.
• Generate internal reports related to risk, loan performance, and operational metrics.
• Complete quarterly and annual regulatory filings, including NCUA Call Reports and tax reporting.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and regulatory reviews.
• Coordinate new employee onboarding, including system access and benefit enrollment.
• Manage employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
• Complete quarterly reporting, tax filings, and Asset Liability Management reporting.
• Oversee annual filings including W-2s, 1099s, tax documents, and unclaimed property reporting.
• Support CPA reporting requirements and annual audits.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred)
• Accounting experience
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of financial operations and regulatory compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a financial institution strongly preferred , ideally within a credit union
• Knowledge of BSA, ACH, NCUA regulations, and audit processes
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and operational oversight
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience
