About the Position

Job Title: Clinical Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum acute care three years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing. Description: The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for delivering safe and effective nursing care. Care is provided according to the philosophy and objectives of the nursing department. The RN utilizes various nursing theories and models to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients. The RN determines patient progress toward goals and utilizes therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Care is tailored to meet the specific physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs of each patient. The RN supports the organization's mission, vision, values, and expectations of excellence. The RN consistently demonstrates the ability to apply scientific knowledge from various disciplines while using the nursing process. Care provided is aligned with interdisciplinary care plans and grounded in the principles of relationship-based care. The RN assesses patients' physical and psychosocial conditions on an ongoing basis. Nursing diagnoses are formulated through observation and interpretation of information from patients and health team members. The RN collaborates with patients to create care plans that ensure safety, comfort, hygiene, and protection. Essential nursing skills and actions are performed while explaining health treatments to patients and families. Education is provided to patients and families about their health needs. The effectiveness of care plans is evaluated through observation and communication with patients and health team members. Current knowledge and safe use of medical equipment and medications are demonstrated. Tasks are delegated to team members based on scope of practice and capability, with effective supervision of care provided. The RN acts as a patient advocate as needed, initiating actions to improve healthcare or change decisions against the patient's best interests. Culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care is provided within legal standards of practice. Coordination of patient care activities with all healthcare team members is conducted effectively. Effective communication skills are utilized to ensure safe patient handoffs. Nursing care is documented according to hospital policies. Manual and automated information systems are utilized to enhance efficiency and productivity. The RN is accountable for meeting or exceeding unit and organizational patient satisfaction goals. Individual contributions to positive patient care experiences through interactions are emphasized. The RN assists in resolving patient and team complaints, striving for immediate resolution when possible. Written, verbal, and electronic communication skills are proficiently performed. Physical duties include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor skills. Completion of annual organizational employment requirements is required.
