Schedule: (nights) Wed-Saturday 9:30 PM-8 AM

Overview Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine supported by a house staff of residents interns fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Facilities Engineering maintains 6 million square foot of facilities dedicated to clinical and academic functions. Facilities Engineering is comprised of 150 professionals including engineers MEP mechanics building finishes and support staff. The Facilities and Engineering department at Barnes Jewish Hospital is a progressive innovative department which stresses employee involvement continued education/training and opportunities for advancement. Consistent customer and staff satisfaction surveys reflect a continuous rating in the upper 90 and staff responses to ''intent to continue employment at BJH'' rating in the upper 90.

Role Purpose

Provides Maintenance and Engineering services. Provides the necessary skill and craft for operation and maintenance of HVAC and physical plant systems in a manner to ensure safe operation optimum performance and maximum efficiency.

Responsibilities

Keeps equipment clean and operational. Handles and disposes of hazardous and or infectious waste properly and practices infection control. Adheres to regulatory guidelines. Performs preventative maintenance and repairs of all refrigeration heating ventilation and air conditioning equipment. Performs troubleshooting and repairs on equipment and systems as assigned. Maintains the hospital's building automation system and responds to system alarms making necessary changes to controls and notifies management. Responds to work order requests and emergencies.

Minimum Requirements

Education High School Diploma or GED Experience 2 years Supervisor Experience No Experience Licenses & Certifications Universal EPA
