The Role
- Full-time, multi-unit leadership position guiding several general-practice hospitals in the local area
- Serve as the medical leader and designated veterinarian for required permits and compliance matters, including controlled substance oversight
- Champion doctor engagement and retention; build a positive, supportive culture where clinicians thrive
- Coach and mentor newly hired veterinarians to build strong clinical, surgical, and dental competencies
- Partner with practice managers to deliver high-quality medicine and achieve operational goals
- Recruit and onboard veterinary talent; represent the hospitals within the local veterinary community and support positive student/observer experiences
- Ensure adherence to clinical standards and regulatory requirements through reviews, audits, and patient-safety processes
- Evaluate and develop the clinical skill sets of veterinary technicians and assistants; support targeted training plans
- Promote access to care and an excellent client experience; resolve escalated medical concerns professionally
- Oversee medical equipment needs and inventories
- Provide hands-on clinical care as needed, emphasizing preventive medicine and clear client communication
- Occasional travel between local hospitals within the assigned area

Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited institution
- Active Colorado veterinary license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- DEA registration (or eligibility)
- Proven small-animal general practice experience, including routine surgery and dentistry
- Demonstrated leadership ability; multi-site or lead veterinarian experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Comfort working in a busy, client-facing, retail-clinic environment
