As a Senior Software Engineer on the team, your primary mission is to help develop and deploy these agentic and automation platforms into GovCloud — designing, building, and operating the playbooks, integrations, and agents that GSOC analysts will rely on every day, and translating their incident response workflows into reliable, auditable automation. This is a deeply hands-on Python engineering role, and it's also a role for someone already operating fluently in the new era of AI-assisted software development. We don't write code the way we used to. You will be expected to use modern AI development tooling intentionally and effectively as a core part of how you ship.This candidate must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) operating on U.S. Soil who does not hold dual citizenship with the ability to meet customer and government screening standards applicable to this role.Responsibilities:Design, implement, and operate Python-based playbooks, actions, integrations, and agents on the Luna platform that automate CSIRT workflows in GovCloud — across triage, enrichment, containment, response, and post-incidentPartner directly with GSOC CSIRT analysts and incident responders to translate their tradecraft into trustworthy, auditable automationExtend Luna's agentic capabilities (LLM-backed actions, tool use, decision agents, MCP integrations) into the GovCloud environment, accounting for the isolation, compliance, and data-handling requirements that come with that boundaryUse AI-assisted software development tooling fluently and intentionally as part of your daily engineering workflow — not as a novelty, but as a force multiplier for shipping faster and with higher qualityDrive end-to-end ownership of the work you build: scoping, design, implementation, testing, deployment, observability, on-call support, and post-incident hardeningRaise the bar for the team's engineering practices — code review, testing, CI/CD, secure-by-default integrations, and how we evaluate and adopt new AI development toolsSupport the team's engineering excellence by performing code reviews and mentoring other engineersBusiness hour on-call to support software services owned by the team (service ownership)Build and ship high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering practices, with AI as a core part of your development workflow by pushing the boundaries of AI development tools to deliver secure, optimized, and high-quality code.Design and orchestrate complex systems where AI agents integrate seamlessly into human workflows, driving efficiency and innovation at scale.Critically evaluate code (Human or AI-generated) for correctness, quality, security, and performanceContribute to building and maintaining the shared system context, an explicit repository of system designs, constraints, and standards that enables AI to operate accurately and reliably.Required Qualifications:5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong track record of shipping production PythonHands-on experience building automation, integrations, or backend services that interact with multiple third-party APIsA demonstrated, genuine AI-first approach to engineering.
