Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.About the RoleJob Summary: Set up and operate machine tools, including HBM, VBM, lathes, milling machines, ID/OD grinders, planers, and bore, without assistance, following department policy and procedures manual, to manufacture and recondition component parts to customer, OEM and industry standards. Interprets mechanical drawings, blueprints, and sketches and performs precision metal cutting, grinding, shaping and fitting. Measures components, parts, and raw materials with precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools. Works under limited supervision.Key Responsibilities:Performs layouts, sets up, and operates conventional machine tools as requiredReads and interprets all drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancingDesigns setups and methods where none existInstructs other shop personnel in proper machining techniques: set-ups, feeds and speeds for both carbide and high speed steel cutting tools, methods and standard operating proceduresImproves methods for higher quality and improved costs.Assists maintenance in diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenanceOperate jib cranes and forklifts as directed by Area SuperintendentAdheres to company and department policies, procedures, and standardsSupports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide LEAN and EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and proceduresPerforms other duties as assignedSkills & Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalentCompletion of a machinist apprentice program or equivalent trainingAbility to hold close tolerances and conduct component inspectionsDemonstrated ability to effectively set up all, or at least most, of the following machines: I.D./O.D.
