Full Stack Engineer

Job TitleYou will be responsible for developing ground satellite operations software using Python and AWS services. Don't worry, you do not need to be an expert in satellites or understand space! Satellites are just flying servers you can connect to every 90 minutes but we connect to hundreds of them.You will primarily be responsible for supporting mission unique software development across backend and frontend in support of the U.S. government, but you will also contribute to Quindar's core product development.You will develop APIs, integrate with various AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Fargate, and EKS along with focusing on scalability, security, cost, and performance of the software. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including satellite operators, customers, and other software engineers to understand requirements, implement new features, and troubleshoot issues. Your strong knowledge of AWS services and best practices will enable you to optimize resource utilization and automate processes, ultimately contributing to the efficient and reliable operations of thousands of satellites.This is a hybrid role with 2 days in office in Irvine, CA or Arvada, CO. We aim to maximize benefits of having in-person collaboration spaces while also working on a flexible schedule with a large amount of remote work!Tech SkillsProficiency in Python, GraphQL, Docker, and Terraform (or relevant IaC tools)Familiarity with Javascript and experience either developing full stack / frontend software or working closely to integrate with frontend developersStrong knowledge of designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting APIs services, distributed NoSQL and relational databases, caching systems, event-driven and multi-tier architecturesExperience working with React components in Typescript and frameworks like Next.js, Refine (or Blitz.js / RedwoodJS)Strong knowledge of containerized applications and serverless architectureExperience with Kubernetes and preferred experience with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch, S3, EFS/EBS, EC2, and RDSStrong knowledge of task automation and CI/CD pipeline building, preferably with GitHub actions but not requiredFamiliarity with Git and GitLab or similar framework for version controlSoft SkillsDeep technical analysis and troubleshooting skillsIndependent self-starter; able to complete projects on time with minimal guidanceA high standard for software maintainability, quality, resilience, and performanceStrong cross-functional communication between frontend, backend engineers and product managersBackground QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field)4+ years [professional] experience in backend development, DevOps, or other related role.
