Job Description We are seeking a skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who is passionate about industrial automation and control systems, with a strong focus on PLCs, HMIs, and a working knowledge of robot programming. - Perform higher level programming for interfacing with databases for data logging and machine recipe selection and modification
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical and electrical engineering to deliver fully integrated automation systems
- Develop control system documentation, including I/O lists, system layouts, and technical manuals.
- Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and support of control systems and automation equipment.
- Travel up to 25% for equipment installation, commissioning, and customer support
- Capture and document all changes and modifications throughout the course of a project.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science, or computer engineering
- 5+ years of experience in creating and testing PLC / HMI and Motion applications. An associate degree with 7+ years of experience will also be considered. Other experience levels will be considered.
- Experience with programming Allen Bradley, Siemens PLC's and HMI's & machine motion control
- Experience with programming of Fanuc and Kuka robotics is highly desired.
- Experience with Python, C, C++, VB.net, and VBA is highly desired.
- Experience with FTView, Wonderware, iFix, Ignition, and other HMI/Scada software
- Knowledgeable of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical
- Experience doing machine startups at customer job sites.
- Must be willing to work in fast paced environment with tight timelines
- Must be able to establish a good working relationship with LSI vendors and customers
- Must be able to shift priorities and multitask as needed
- Experience handling multiple projects
