This leadership role works closely with company leadership to maintain efficient operational systems, ensure financial accountability, and support long-term organizational growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting and bookkeeping expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Finance Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations utilizing Sage Intacct, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance
- Assist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, financial analysis, and job profitability tracking
- Support month-end and year-end accounting processes while ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, insurance providers, and financial partners, including management of insurance documentation and regulatory reporting
- Supervise and support the HR Recruiter and Office Assistant, providing leadership, accountability, training, and mentoring
- Oversee onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, employee records, compliance documentation, and employee relations matters
- Assist managers with employee coaching, performance documentation, and recruiting support during peak hiring periods
- Manage office systems, administrative procedures, office technology, facility coordination, and overall office operations
- Collaborate with leadership on operational improvements, process development, and organizational efficiency initiatives
- Identify administrative, operational, HR, and accounting inefficiencies and implement approved process improvements
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive information and employee matters
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
- Position Type: Full-Time, Salaried, Direct Hire
- Pay: $80,000-$90,000/YR.
- Location: Grand Rapids, MI
- Hybrid schedule available following onboarding and training, with regular in-office presence required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Minimum of five years of accounting, bookkeeping, office administration, financial management, or operational leadership experience required
- Experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and office operations
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience required, with exposure to HR functions including benefits administration, onboarding, compliance, and employee relations preferred
- Strong business acumen, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and diplomatic approach
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and discretion
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required
