Must possess a high level of skills in industrial, maintenance, turnaround, data centers construction / or mechanical environment. Also, must be able to lay-out, fabricate, assemble, bolt-up, flanges, valves, erect or make repairs for all types of structural, boiler and plate work.Job FunctionsPlans work schedules and match crew members to appropriate jobs based on skillMonitors daily output, record hours, and report project status back to managementComprehend and execute work assignments across shop and field environmentsGuides apprentices and journeymen on proper technique and trade practicesLeads toolbox talks, inspect gear, and scan the job site for active hazardsEnsures all work follows strict industrial standards, such as ASME codes for pressure partsOversee high-risk tasks often performed at great heights or inside confined spacesAbility to interpret technical drawings and schematics and determine corresponding tools and material needs for operational workflowsMust be able to select materials according to suitability for job engineering standardsMust be able to layout, plate work, pressure vessels, and miscellaneous fabricationMust be able to use straightedges, trammels, dividers, squares, tapes, shop power tools, use of geometry to locate lines, centers, angles, bends and radii, make allowances for shrinkage, expansion, load and stress as identified by design engineerMust be able to do field sketches and measurements on repair and construction jobsMust be able to operate shop machines such as pantograph, bending rolls, plate shear, punch press, to fabricate partsMust know and able to use wrenches, pneumatic hammer, dolly, portable drills, reamers, grinders and torch for fitting and bolting assembliesMust be proficient in connecting and securing structural steel (beams, plates, channels, angles) via bolting or alternative fastening techniquesMust be proficient in operating manual and mechanical lifting equipment, including block and tackle systems, hoists, and winches, to safely position heavy assembliesMust be able to dismantle, install, repair, and erect fabricated steel structures for boiler and pressure vessel projectsInspect and perform hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure tests on boiler tubes and pressure vessels.Perform full-lifecycle heat exchanger services, including inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair.Execute rigging tasks and direct crane operators using standard OSHA-compliant hand signals.Proficiency with standard shop equipment, including rolls, shears, drill presses, and band saws.Must be able to identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazardsSkills, Knowledge, Qualifications & ExperienceMust have a minimum of four (4) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experienceMust have a general knowledge of power and hand toolsMust be able to pass the Boilermaker Skills Test at or above 70% or complete the NCCER certification for your craftMust Complete Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific trainingMust be able to obtain and maintain an active status within the approved drug testing programMust maintain a current, valid driver's license and pass an MVR as a condition of employmentSafety Management training and Client / Site specific trainingPhysical RequirementsMust be willing to work overtimeMust have the ability to read, write, and communicate effectivelyMust be able to work at elevated heights from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial work platformsMust be able to work may include pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, such as raw or fabricated material, equipment or toolsMust be able to perform work, including frequent bending, kneeling, crouching and stooping and occasional climbing onto equipmentMust be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow and wind; and must be able to work for long periods of time, up to 12 hours a dayWill be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe bootsMust have a Valid driver's LicenseIn addition, full-time employees are offered a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental and vision plans covering eligible employees and dependents, disability benefits, life and AD&D insurance, an employee assistance program (EAP), a 401(k) plan with company match, an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), a robust wellness program and adoption assistance.At Matrix, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace.
