Adheres to infection control protocols and policiesMaintains annual mandatory education requirements, which include emergency skills and unit based competenciesIdentifies the need for continued growth and development by attending and/or participating in in-house or outside training programs to improve and augment skills and knowledgePerforms safely and efficiently in emergency situations, assessing, planning and evaluating care to meet rapidly changing patient and family needs.Participates in activities that contribute to professional development of self; may participate in nursing/multidisciplinary committees, orientation programs and unit based Performance Improvement projects demonstrating an ability to act as Team Leader for small projects or work groups that create a collaborative and respectful team environment and orientation programs.Assumes role of Resource Nurse as necessary, understanding, coordinating and ensuring work flow through the department and maintaining contact with the Triage RN to appropriately prioritize and place the ED patient.Assumes the role of Triage RN as necessary, utilizing an ESI 5 Tier triage system to appropriately assess and prioritize the needs of the ED patient and maintains contact with the Resource RN to ensure safe and timely placement of the patient in the core Adheres to the hospital's RESPECT standards; providing a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customersEmployee maintains competencies (position specific and hospital-wide) required for the specific patient population served.Performs all duties in accordance with safety and other laws, rules, and regulations set forth by appropriate regulatory and government agencies and in accordance with established department and hospital policies and procedures.May be required to perform similar or related duties as may be necessary on an emergency basis or as designated by the department manager or supervisor.The nature of the tasks/responsibilities required of employees in this position will likely expose them to blood and body fluids. Employees will be oriented to and required to understand and follow the standard precautions for infection control. Pay Range: $37.08 - $92.84The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
