Food Service Substitute

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible individual to join our team as a Food Service Substitute at Park Rapids District. This position is ideal for those looking to support our food service operations on an as-needed basis. The Food Service Substitute will assist in providing nutritious meals to students and staff while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. This role requires adaptability and a commitment to fostering a positive dining experience.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals in accordance with established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are met and maintained throughout food preparation and service.
- Set up and clean dining areas, including tables, chairs, and serving stations.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and according to established procedures.
- Support the regular food service staff in daily tasks, including inventory management and restocking supplies.
- Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring that all meals are appealing and nutritious.
- Respond to student and staff inquiries regarding meal options and dietary restrictions.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Food Service Supervisor.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in food service or kitchen operations is a plus, but not required.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with a team.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and occasional evenings.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- A current food handler's permit or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe(preferred).

- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
