Job Description

Job Summary:
The Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams, including echocardiograms and vascular studies, in an efficient manner based on physician orders. The role involves working collaboratively with patients and physicians, ensuring patient care and departmental workflow are maintained effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed echocardiograms, vascular procedures, and other ultrasound exams utilizing current equipment.
• Assist physicians with radiology procedures and ensure all studies are completed accurately and timely.
• Maintain supplies, monitor equipment, and adhere to safety and infection control policies.
• Document procedures accurately in the MediTech EMR system and verify patient charges daily.
• Respond promptly to on-call calls and assist in other radiology areas when needed.
• Promote a positive department environment by communicating effectively with team members and participating in meetings.

Qualifications:

• Hold at least 2 years of relevant ultrasound experience, including echo and vascular studies.
• Proficient in performing echocardiograms with Definity contrast.
• Capable of starting IVs and working with MediTech EMR software.
• Certified by ARDMS and current in American Heart Association BLS.
• Possess active ARDMS certification and valid BLS certification.
• Must have valid documentation of work history and supervisory references from the past two years.
