RN - CVICU

CVICU Registered Nurse - Nights

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30). Every third weekend and holiday required as they fall, as scheduled. On-call duties include 24-32 hours per rotating 8-week schedule.

The CVICU Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care to critically ill patients recovering from cardiac surgery and other related conditions. The RN will manage complex patient needs including medication management and monitoring hemodynamic stability. Proficiency in critical care procedures and strong assessment skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage patients post-operative from cardiac surgeries such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and other complex cardiac procedures.
• Administer medications including inotropic agents and manage devices such as ECMO, CRRT, and IABP.
• Provide patient assessments and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Utilize advanced charting systems (Epic) for accurate patient documentation.
• Implement nursing protocols for patients with significant hemodynamic instability and coagulopathy.
• Conduct emergency interventions as needed to stabilize patient conditions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Active MD RN license required; compact licenses accepted.
• 2 years of CVICU experience preferred, but first-time travelers with relevant experience may be considered.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; CPI preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
