POSITION TITLE: SHIPPING SPECIALIST IDEPARTMENT: ShippingREPORTS TO: Manager, WarehouseHOURS/SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 7:00a-3:30p (overtime as needed)HOURLY/SALARY STATUS: Hourly, Non-ExemptPOSITION OVERVIEW:The Shipping Specialist I is responsible for staging and palletizing materials for shipment, loading and unloading trailers, maintaining inventory records, and verifying quantities of materials received against shipping documents.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Pick items for orders and complete shipping documents as neededLoad and unload trailers as they arrive at the facilityStage materials and pallets for shipmentsInspect product as it arrives and report any problems to QualityAnticipate and support company needs including staging work in advance, when possible, to reduce downtimeMaintain warehouse, keeping material neat and accessible and inventory accurateSupport 6S efforts, removing trash and recyclables as necessaryParticipate in idea implementation initiatives with teamMaintain high level of safety at all timesCOMPETENCIES:Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervisionEffective time management skillsStrong organizational skillsGood interpersonal communication skills and professional demeanorTeam player with the ability to maintain good working relations with internal and external teamsStrong attention to detailProcess improvement abilityStrong computer skillsExperience with IFS ERP system is preferredEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalentFork truck operators license, permit or the ability to obtain oneAbility to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities are shifting regularlyPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Able to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hrs. per dayAbility to bend, squat, crawl, climb or reach frequently throughout the dayMust wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as requiredAbility to work in all weather conditionsJOIN A TEAM THAT BUILDS MORE THAN GREAT PRODUCTSAt Hussey Seating Company, we’re more than a manufacturer – we’re a family-owned company that has been building places where people come together since 1835. The anticipated starting range for this position is $22.95 to $28.05 per hour.
