Mentor a Teen in Foster Care

One consistent adult can change the trajectory of a teen’s life.

Our mentoring program connects caring adult volunteers with teens and young adults (ages 13–23) who are in foster care or transitioning to independence. Many of these youth don’t have a stable, supportive adult in their lives—and that’s where you come in.

As a mentor, your role is simple:

Show up, build a relationship, and be someone they can count on.

You might:

• Grab coffee or a meal together
• Help with homework or job applications
• Practice for a driver’s test
• Talk about goals, relationships, or life decisions
• Do something fun like walking, bowling, or going to a community event

Time Commitment:

Just 4 hours per month —about one hour per week.

Who can volunteer:

• Adults age 25+
• Able to pass a background check and drug screening
• Have reliable transportation and state-required car insurance
• Willing to attend orientation and complete short monthly check-ins

A $30 fee helps cover the cost of the background check.
