Material Handler

Leidos Defense group seeks a Material Handler to support logistics operations at the Navy Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) in Newport, RI. Responsibilities Vehicle loading and unloading. Material receipt and issue. Inventory maintenance, receipt, issue, and location recordkeeping (hardcopy and electronic). Daily audits and cycle counts. Material movement using hand and powered lift trucks. Packaging and preparation of materials for shipment. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 1‑2 years of prior experience in a logistical/planning activity. U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; Interim Secret required to start. Previous experience supporting warehousing activities. Previous experience reading and interpreting warehouse storage plans. Experience operating standard office equipment (phones, computer, fax, and copiers). Ability to lift 30 lbs unassisted. Recent experience at NATSC Newport as a Warehouse Specialist or equivalent. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Payment & Benefits Pay: $19.33 per hour. This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum wage requirements as well as the minimum Health and Welfare benefit.
