Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room to join our surgical team in Framingham, MA. The RN will provide high-quality, safe, and cost-effective patient care throughout the perioperative process.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patients, developing and implementing individualized care plans, coordinating patient care, and collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Operating Room according to established standards and policies. 
• Assess patients' physical and clinical needs and develop appropriate nursing care plans. 
• Coordinate and integrate patient care using the nursing process . 
• Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status. 
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia staff, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals. 
• Maintain patient safety throughout the surgical process. 
• Follow established infection control, safety, risk management, and quality improvement standards. 
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care. 
• Assist with the coordination and planning of care within the prescribed medical plan. 
• Promote effective communication with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team. 
• Support appropriate resource utilization and cost-effective patient care. 
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and emergency protocols. 
• Participate in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies or disasters. 
• Understand and appropriately respond to hospital emergency codes. 
• Maintain professional competency and comply with applicable regulatory and clinical standards. 
• Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a state-approved or accredited school of nursing . 
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts, as required by law. 
• Current CPR/BLS certification . 
• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills. 
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment. 
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-advocacy skills. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN) preferred. 
• Previous Operating Room / Perioperative nursing experience preferred. 
• Knowledge of surgical safety, infection prevention, quality improvement, and risk-management practices. 
• Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary surgical teams.
