Mechanical Design Specialist

Job Description Prepare and verify technical documents, procedures, and drawings for design. Develop 3D models, technical drawings, and CAD designs using software such as CATIA V5, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD. Approve technical documents, drawings, and design changes within the assigned scope. Design parts and systems, perform technical analyses, create documentation, and prepare production data packages. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including AS9100D, FAA Part 21 & Part 25, and FAA regulations. Optimize designs for weight, performance, and cost efficiency while meeting functional and safety requirements. Prepare material lists and maintain up-to-date design documents and specifications. Support On‑Site Support activities & production engineers in resolving design‑related issues and provide feedback. Review and validate designs to ensure airworthiness and certification compliance. Participate in design reviews, FMEA, and technical meetings. Provide technical input for supplier selection, procurement, and production planning. Recommend materials, manufacturing methods, and design improvements. Collaborate with regulatory authorities, certification bodies and OEM regarding design approvals and compliance. Ensure all designs comply with engineering standards, safety requirements, and industry regulations. Deliver design outputs on time, within budget, and meeting quality expectations. Identify and mitigate design risks and potential failures. Maintain confidentiality of technical data and intellectual property. Continuously improve design processes and engineering methodologies to enhance efficiency and innovation. Comply with the company's environmental, occupational health and safety policies, support related initiatives, and promote waste separation at source to help achieve environmental and occupational health and safety objectives. Support the Safety Management System by complying with the safety policy, participating in safety initiatives, and fulfilling responsibilities related to safety risk awareness. Qualifications Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the United States without current or future company-sponsored immigration sponsorship. The company will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position. Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Aeronautical Engineering. Have at least 6 years of experience in the relevant field. Be proficient in Catia V5, ENOVIA, and preferably other engineering software. Demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to present designs to customers, team members, and managers, and provide regular reporting throughout the design process. Have knowledge of AS9100D, FAA regulations, and FAA Part 21. Be available to travel as required.
