Medical Director - I&I Clinical Development

An emerging, pre-IPO biotech in South San Francisco focused on advancing a first-in-class therapeutic platform with the potential to unlock previously intractable targets is growing their clinical development team. As multiple programs move into the clinic, the team is seeking a Medical Director to help l ead FIH and early-phase studies. Experience in inflammatory or autoimmune diseases preferred.

This is a high-impact role for a physician who wants to shape early clinical strategy and operational execution, work closely with cross-functional teams, and help bring novel therapies into the clinic.

What You’ll Do

• Help drive first-in-human and early-phase clinical trials from startup through readout
• Provide clinical insight and safety perspective on emerging data
• Partner closely with CROs and internal teams to ensure high-quality study execution
• Contribute to dose-escalation decisions, data interpretation, and key clinical deliverables
• Engage with investigators and support study-level strategy and execution
• Additional responsibilities as needed

What We’re Looking For

• MD with biotech/pharma experience
• Background in early-phase clinical development (Phase 1 or 2)
• Interest in novel mechanisms and innovative science
• Collaborative, hands-on, and motivated by impact in a small-team environment
• Background in inflammatory, autoimmune, allergy, or endocrine-related diseases a plus
