Direct Support Professional-1st Shift
SIRS
Provides direct support to individuals by implementing and supporting person-centered support and behavior plans, respecting and understanding the rights of individuals supported, ensuring safety, recognizing individual needs, and encouraging independence to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

- Achieve goals the individual selects.
- Achieve as much independence as possible.
- Feel supported in daily living to create a safe & healthy life.
- Make each day the BEST day.
- Depending on position, this could include assisting individuals with activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and transferring while encouraging the individual to perform as much self-care as possible. Understanding and utilizing adaptive equipment including wheelchairs and belts/locks, Hoyer lifts, etc. and be able to securely load and unload clients'. (Note: Not applicable to all positions.)
- Driving individuals to daily appointments, work, day programs, recreation events, and stores as needed.
- Completing medication records and counts.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment for individual(s). Performing general housekeeping and teaching/supporting individual(s) to perform housekeeping.
- Completes all trainings including new hire, on the job and annual trainings within the designated timeframe.
- Understands and follows proper physical safety and emergency protocols.
- Completes all documentation accurately and timely.
- The minimum age requirement is 18 years.
- Valid driver's license, with a satisfactory driving record.
- Must pass a drug screen and comprehensive background check.
- CPR/First Aid - provided.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to grasp the equivalent of a 12 oz. can.
- Must have reliable transportation and current vehicle insurance.
- Must be able to travel within the community.
