Assistant Cross Country Coach

Job Description Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for a part‑time Assistant Cross Country Coach. Job Details Location: F&M Campus – Lancaster, PA Classification: Part‑time, Non‑Exempt Schedule: To be determined by the supervisor Reports To: Head Cross Country Coach Department: Athletics & Recreation Essential Functions Provide instruction, mentoring, coaching, evaluation and guidance to student‑athletes. Determine appropriate coaching methods and strategies in consultation with the Head Coach. Assist in scheduling and organizing games & meets. Develop and communicate practice schedules. Facilitate the implementation and maintenance of a standard of performance consistent with the College's goals of academic and athletic excellence. Promote academic achievement among athletes. Assist in coordination and logistics of official and unofficial campus visits by prospective student athletes. Maintain communications with parents and students as directed by the Head Coach. Ensure facilities and equipment are prepared in advance of practice sessions and games/meets/matches. Report & monitor proper maintenance of equipment and practice and contest facilities to ensure safe playing conditions. All other duties as assigned. Requirements High School Diploma or GED. At least 1 year of relevant experience coaching cross country. Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in Google Suite Products (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Drive). Current CPR, AED, and first aid certification required. Must pass the NCAA Division III Coaches Test. Ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.
