We accept insured and uninsured patients with affordable, low-cost or no cost services.Position Summary:Provides clinical and administrative assistance in the delivery of patient care during the clinic hours of operation and assists with patient cases remotely during non-clinic hours.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGeneral ResponsibilitiesAssists with the evaluation and care of patients including:Manages the Electronic Medical Records system, including taking appropriate action such as monitoring Medical Provider in-boxes, responding to communications and transferring documents to correct locationsProcesses prescription refill requestsActs as first-line of communication with organizational partners as needed and properly and promptly acts on information providedPerforms lab technologist and/or phlebotomy services during clinic hours of operationProvides general Medical Provider support and assistance including, but not limited to communicating medical results and other information to patientsIdentifies volunteer/staff needs and assists in the facilitation of trainings as neededWorks with Clinic Manager and Medical Providers to implement and maintain clinic policies and proceduresUtilizes and promotes infection control measures and universal precautions to maintain high quality of health and safety during clinic operationHelps perform medical supply inventoriesEnsures well-being of patients in the clinicMaintains a system of confidentiality according to the clinic's policies and procedures and HIPAA guidelinesFosters teamwork within the clinicPrepares supplies and equipment in examination roomsCompletes initial preliminary testing, preparation and information gathering with patients and communicates results to the Medical Provider on dutyCompletes other tasks as assignedQualifications:Must have the ability to observe, document, and communicate lab-related issues, and to exercise independent judgment, well-informed decision-making, and problem-solvingMust demonstrate good communication skills, interpersonal skills, team-building skills, and professional demeanorMust possess a CMA, CCMA, RMA or NCMA certificationTwo years direct patient care experience preferredWorking knowledge of infection control and universal precautions preferredWorking experience with acquiring and processing lab specimens preferred.Physical and Work Environment Requirements:Ability to work in an office, clinical, or hybrid work environment.Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment for extended periods.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Occasional travel may be required for training, conferences, organizational meetings, and other business-related activities.The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
