Details flflow IMCU role within a Cardiac Telemetry unit Cares for adult to geriatric patients with cardiac arrhythmias, CHF, chest pain, renal and pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, DVT) Also manages surgical overflow cases (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains) and occasional vascular, ortho, or CVA overflow patients Handles post cardiac cath patients and TR Band care Manages stable A-Fib, SVT, and bradycardia arrhythmias Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on a 32-bed unit Uses Epic (preferred), Pyxis, and SBAR communication Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Every other weekend rotation typical, with travelers filling gaps after core staff scheduling Facility floating required within scope of practice as needed On-call is rare with a 2-hour response time; travelers do not manage Precedex drips American Traveler Job ID P-744765.
