Job Summary:
Ultrasonographer General in the San Mateo, California area. This role involves performing routine and specialized sonography procedures of moderate complexity to produce diagnostic images for healthcare providers. The position requires independent work, sound judgment, and effective communication with patients and clinical teams. The candidate will adhere to all applicable regulations to ensure patient safety and privacy.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, shifts between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certified as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) and a Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Must possess two of the following certifications: Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), Fetal Echocardiography (FE), Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN), Pediatric Sonography (PS), or Registered Vascular Technician (RVT). A minimum of 2 years of recent relevant experience is required.
- Skills and Knowledge: Intermediate understanding of diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, and equipment, including experience responding to hospital emergencies and traumas. Proficiency in human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology to interpret abnormal results. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management, organizational abilities, and familiarity with medical computer systems such as RIS, LIS, EHR, EPIC, and PACS.
- Additional Information: The role may include performing specific procedures or orienting staff within the department. Candidates must be able to prioritize tasks, work independently and collaboratively, and maintain patient confidentiality.
