Expanded Functions Dental Assistant - EFDA

Position Opening: Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) Reports to Dental Clinical Supervisor. Full‑time, non‑exempt. About the Organization Community Health and Dental Care (CHDC) is a non‑profit community health center in Pennsylvania serving patients regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Job Description Provides general dental assistance duties including taking and processing X‑rays, sterilization, and placement of preventative or restorative materials limited to sealants, metallic and composite materials. Duties Assist the dentist in providing quality dental care in all venues including chairside assistance. Place preventative or restorative materials limited to sealants and metallic/nonmetallic materials. Place temporary filling materials, crowns, bridges, and remove sutures. Take and process X‑rays including Panorex. Computer charting and documentation. Perform instrument sterilization duties. Perform all assigned duties consistently with a safe and respectful patient care environment. Qualifications High school diploma. EFDA licensure. X‑ray certificate. CPR certification. Dental office experience required. EFDA experience preferred. Bilingual/bicultural strongly preferred. Attendance required at assigned CHDC site(s).
